Nos anos 1950, quando os primeiros aviões comerciais a jato começaram a voar, algumas companhias optaram por janelas quadradas. O problema surgiu rapidamente: os cantos retos das janelas criavam pontos de concentração de pressão. Além da segurança, há também benefícios práticos. Janelas arredondadas sofrem menos desgaste com o tempo, evitam que trincas se espalhem rapidamente e contribuem para a longevidade da aeronave. É um pequeno detalhe que salva vidas e aumenta a confiabilidade dos voos.
